Since its establishment in 2002 by Bahram Kalantari and Kourosh Dabbagh, both graduates of Melli University (Shahid Beheshti University of Tehran), ARAD Office has developed a diverse body of work of architectural and urban projects.
Their work has been widely published and awarded, they are part of the prominent contemporary architecture practices of Iran. They actively take part in the promotion of the Iranian architecture scene through research projects, publications, lectures, and events.
Their research and design work is strongly based on practice. They see architecture as a decision-making process, during which a design problem is invented from the given facts, and therefore is strongly linked to context. During this creative process, a design solution emerges from the interaction and the sum of all the often highly conflicting actors involved. They see the design process as an experiment, where the architect, experiments like a scientist and approaches the solution using his set of architectural tools.
Their experience includes extensive work in designing and managing varying project types including low-rise and high-rise residential and commercial complexes, retail and commercial developments, office buildings and corporate buildings, educational campuses and facilities, recreational developments, waterfront developments, airports, industrial complexes among others.
